Why do I need a headshot? 

Your headshot is one of the most important elements of your online profile. It is the first thing an employer, client or colleague will most likely see.  A good first impression encourages the viewer to take you seriously. In fact, according to LinkedIn, your profile is 14x more likely to be viewed simply by having a profile picture.  A headshot that looks professional says a lot about who you are.  Professionals are more willing to approach the person that looks professional over those that don't. 

Put your best foot forward.  Your photo should represent who you are now, not 10 years ago.  If you haven't updated your photo online in awhile chances are you don't look the same which is misleading to someone you will eventually meet in person.  You might wear glasses now or have a great new haircut.  Either way not showing what you look like now can effect what the viewer thinks of you, they might think you're unconfident or lack credibility.
